I Already Have All My Credits—Can I Just Get the Diploma?
Even if you’ve already completed most of your high school credits, you’ll still need to take at least 6 courses with Excel High School to earn an accredited diploma.
🎓 We’re Glad You’re Close to Graduation—But Here’s What You Need to Know
If you've already earned most of your high school credits and are just looking to get your diploma, Excel High School is here to help—but there are a few important requirements we must follow.
We will transfer in as many of your previous high school credits as possible, but because of accreditation standards, we cannot award a diploma unless you complete at least 25% of your credits through Excel High School.
What Does That Mean?
Our standard diploma requires 21.5 total credits, and 25% of that equals roughly 6 full courses. These must be completed through our school, even if you’ve already finished high school elsewhere.
✅ We can transfer in up to 75% of the required credits—that’s 16 credits for the 21.5-credit track or 18 credits for the 24-credit track.
Why This Matters: Accreditation and Academic Integrity
Excel High School is regionally accredited, which is the highest level of academic accreditation in the U.S. This means:
-
Our diplomas are recognized by colleges, employers, and the military.
-
We follow strict policies set by accrediting organizations like Cognia and MSA-CESS.
-
We cannot waive the 25% completion rule—it’s a condition of our accreditation and helps prevent the risks of "diploma mills."
🚩 Schools that offer diplomas with no coursework or without verifying your credits may not be accredited, and their diplomas may not be accepted by colleges or employers.
