How Long Does It Take to Graduate from Excel High School?

At Excel High School, graduation timelines depend on the number of credits a student needs and their individual pacing. Since our programs are self-paced, students can move as quickly or as steadily as they need to complete their diploma.

Understanding Grade Levels at Excel High School

At Excel High School, a grade level consists of six courses. Since tuition is charged per grade level, students must pay tuition in full for their current grade level before advancing to the next set of courses.

For example:

  • If a student completes all six courses in seven months, they will need to pay off the tuition balance for that grade level before enrolling in the next grade level.
  • After completing a grade level, students must officially enroll in the next grade level, which includes agreeing to a new payment plan before accessing their next six courses.
  • This structure does not apply to adult learners in the Fast Track program, as their tuition model is different.

Graduation Timeline for Teen Students (Grades 9-12)

Teen students typically follow a traditional four-year high school timeline, but some may graduate early by accelerating their coursework.

  • Standard Pace: Students complete one grade level per year, finishing in four years if starting in 9th grade.
  • Accelerated Pace: Students who take extra courses or work at a faster pace may graduate in three years or less.
  • Credit Transfers: Students transferring into Excel High School may be able to graduate sooner depending on how many credits they bring from their previous school.

Course Completion Timeframes for Teen Students

  • Full-time students have 12 months to complete their coursework each academic year.
  • Single courses (credit recovery, summer school, or enrichment courses) must be completed within six months.

Graduation Timeline for Adult Learners ("Fast Track" Program)

Adult learners in the Fast Track Program can graduate in as little as six months, depending on their incoming credits and course completion pace.

  • Standard Pace: Most adult students complete their diploma in 9-12 months.
  • Accelerated Pace: Students who transfer in credits and complete six courses per semester can graduate in six months.
  • Maximum Time Allowed: Students have up to 24 months to complete their diploma.

Factors That Affect Graduation Time

  • Number of Credits Needed: Students who start with zero high school credits will need to complete the full 21.5- or 24-credit diploma track.
  • Self-Paced Learning: Students can work ahead and complete courses faster, but they must demonstrate mastery before progressing.
  • Tuition Payments: Students must pay tuition in full for each grade level before enrolling in the next set of six courses.

Can I Graduate Early?

Yes! Early graduation is possible for motivated students who:

  • Take additional courses each year.
  • Work at an accelerated pace.
  • Transfer in a significant number of high school credits.
