Understanding How Academic Support Works
At Excel High School and Northgate Academy, we don’t use the traditional “one-teacher-per-class” model like many brick-and-mortar schools. Instead, we use a team-based support system that’s more flexible and personalized.
Here’s how it works:

Our courses are created by professional curriculum designers and delivered through our custom learning platform, Learn Stage.

All grading, feedback, and academic support are provided by a team of licensed Academic Coaches.

These coaches each have their own subject specialties—some are math experts, some are science lovers, and others are writing pros.

Instead of having one teacher for every student, we match your question to the coach who can best help you.
So, What Should You Do If You Need Help?
If you’re stuck or have a question, the best and fastest way to get help is by submitting a ticket through the Help Desk in Learn Stage.
This sends your question to the right Academic Coach—someone who knows your subject inside and out and can give you the support you need.
💡 Help Desk Tips: How to Get the Best Answer
To help us help you faster, be as specific as you can in your Help Desk request.
Instead of saying:
🚫 “I don’t get my course.”
Try saying:
✅ “I’m in English 10. I need help with Essay #1 – Informative Essay. I don’t understand the instructions in Module 2, Lesson 3.”
Include:

Your course name (Ex: Algebra I, English 10)

The assignment or test you’re working on

The module or lesson number

A short description of what’s confusing you
This helps us route your question to the best Academic Coach for your topic—so you can get a helpful, accurate answer faster.
Need Help Finding the Help Desk?
To get help, go to the “My Account” section of your Learn Stage portal. The Help Desk is located in the left-hand menu (not in the “Courses” view). You’ll see it near the bottom of the red sidebar—just click Helpdesk and submit your request.
🔍 Tip: You won’t see the Help Desk if you're in the "My Courses" section. Switch back to “My Account” using the toggle in the top right of the screen.
