GED and HiSET Credit Transfer Policy

Earn up to 5.0 high school credits at Excel by transferring your GED or HiSET scores—no GPA impact, and a simple process to submit your results.

Excel High School recognizes the effort students have made in passing the GED® or HiSET® exams and allows up to 5.0 high school credits to be awarded based on exam performance:

  • 2.0 English credits for passing the Reasoning Through Language Arts (RLA) section. This exam assesses reading comprehension, grammar, writing skills, and understanding of language conventions.

  • 1.0 Math credit for passing the Mathematical Reasoning section.

  • 1.0 Science credit for passing the Science section.

  • 1.0 Social Studies credit for passing the Social Studies section.

These are ungraded transfer credits, which means they do not impact your GPA or class rank. They are counted toward the total 21.5-credit requirement for an Excel High School diploma.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate, students must earn at least 6.0 credits (25%) through Excel High School, regardless of how many transfer credits they bring in. This is required to meet our accreditation standards.

Submitting Official GED or HiSET Scores

To receive transfer credit, students must provide official exam transcripts:

  • Preferred Method: Have your official GED or HiSET transcript sent directly from the testing agency to: records@excelhighschool.com

  • Alternate Method: If direct transmission isn’t possible, you may provide the official score website and login credentials so our team can verify and retrieve your scores.

Need Help?
