We’re excited to introduce a monthly newsletter just for students enrolled in the brand new ElevatED program.

Each month, you’ll explore a new theme designed to help you grow, plan, and prepare for life after high school—starting with College & Career Planning!

📌 College and Career Planning

As we head into the summer months, it’s the perfect time to shine a spotlight on something that impacts every student: planning for life after high school.

Whether you're thinking about college, starting a career, entering a trade, or exploring other opportunities, having a plan in place makes all the difference. College and career planning helps you explore your options, set goals, and take clear steps toward your future—and you don’t have to do it alone.

This month, we’re focusing on how to break the process down into manageable steps and how to use resources like your Success Coach and college websites to make informed decisions.

No matter where you are in high school—just starting out or getting ready to graduate—now is a great time to start thinking ahead.

Your future is yours to build, and we're here to help you get there. Thanks for being part of the Excel community—we can’t wait to see where your journey takes you next.

Welcome to the ElevatED program!

My name is Max Marsland and I’m the Associate Director of Academics.

Each month, we’ll be sending you resources to enrich your high school experience and get you prepped for the world beyond—whether that’s more school, work, or something totally off the beaten path whether that’s a college campus, a startup, or a hands-on trade you’re excited about.

This month, we’re diving into College and Career Planning, which is, let’s be honest, one of the most exciting and most terrifying parts of high school.

You’ve probably been thinking about what you want to do after graduation (or, like I did, avoiding the thought entirely until it absolutely could not be ignored).

Whether your dreams involve dorm rooms, job interviews, boot camp, or something else entirely, we want to make sure you’ve got the info and guidance you need to make confident, informed decisions.

So... why start planning now? Because “I’ll figure it out later” becomes “Oh no, it is later” faster than you think. Starting early gives you time to explore, dream big, change your mind (a few times), and still end up on track.

To help with that, we’ve got an awesome team of coaches who specialize in helping students like you sort through the options. We’ll kick things off with skills and preference assessments, which are quizzes specially designed to help you figure out a little bit more about yourself and guide your search. They help you get a sense of what might be a good fit, and just as importantly, what probably isn’t.

From there, our coaches work with you one-on-one to explore programs, schools, careers, or service opportunities that align with your strengths and goals. When you’re a part of our community we’re with you through it all: from the “what the heck do I want to do with my life?” phase all the way to “I GOT IN!” Just don’t forget to let us know when you get that acceptance letter so we can cheer you on!

To wrap things up, planning ahead matters. Because your future deserves thought, intention, and maybe a little bit of guidance. We’re here to help you chart your course, whether that leads to a college campus, a cool new job, or a path less traveled. Thanks for letting us be part of the ride as you take the next steps on a very exciting and unique path.

    ElevatED: Monthly Enrichment and Support

We’re pleased to introduce ElevatED, a new monthly enrichment and support program for students and families. Each month focuses on a meaningful theme—such as College and Career Planning in August, Gratitude in November, and Responsible AI Use in March. ElevatED covers valuable topics like goal-setting, time management, test prep, service, and future-readiness. It’s all about empowering students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to succeed today and lead tomorrow.
